How to free up space on a HandPunch 1000
This short article is actually a response to a customer who has apparently maxed-out his available number of employees on his HandPunch 1000.
When an employee leaves the company, you must delete them from the hand punch. This doesn't affect your employee records in the software.
Go to the the clock, sign is as a supervisor. Go to memory area 4 which is Add Employees. Step beyond, it says Add Supervisor. Step beyond, you will see Delete. Hit #YES and enter their employee ID number. You just need their number, no ex-employee hand is needed. This frees up that memory, and you can replace that person with another hire. Print out a list of all your employees, using a yellow or pink maker, hi-lite all the employees who no longer use the HandPunch. Delete all them, now.
Before you do this, go it to memory 3, instead of 4. This says List Employees. It's not a list, it tells you how many you have as a license (you have 100, and the next (and final) upgrade is to 512. It will also tell you how many employee spaces are available. When you delete one (memory 4), it will increase here.
